Michael A. Swinton earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Florida, where he graduated with honors. He went on to study law at Florida International University College of Law. While at this institution, he served as a certified legal intern for the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office. He also participated in multiple legal clinics. Mr. Swinton has been licensed to practice law in the state of Florida since 2010.
Before establishing his own law firm, Mr. Swinton spent time working as an assistant public defender at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, a well-known and highly-respected establishment. During this time, he participated in many bench and jury trials, serving as the lead attorney on more than 1,500 cases.
After three years at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, Mr. Swinton opened his own firm. The firm has been in operation since 2013.
