Bench Warrants & Alias Capias (Felony Warrant)

bench warrantA Bench warrant is issued by the judge because an individual failed to appear before the court when he or she was required to. Most often, a bench warrant is issued when an individual fails to appear at arraignment (criminal charges are officially filed and announced) and has not hired an attorney. An Alias Capias is similar to a bench warrant; an Alias Capias is usually issued by a felony judge whereas bench warrants are issued by county court judges. If you have an outstanding warrant, contact our office so we can help set it aside; we may be able to set aside the bench warrant without you having to be there. You can be arrested at any time by law enforcement when you have an open warrant. Don’t risk it!
